For a family retreat in Healdsburg, the heart of Sonoma Valley, Marea reimagined a dated home from the foundation up, collaborating with Brooks McDonald Architecture and Arrow Builders. The goal was to create a weekend escape that mirrored the comfort and sophistication of the clients' San Francisco residence, also designed by MCI, while embracing the relaxed elegance of wine country living. Balancing informality with refinement, the design seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces, with the rear of the home overlooking a pool and the rolling Sonoma Valley hills. True to the firm’s philosophy, the result is a warm, inviting, and durable retreat—one where beauty meets everyday livability.
