Carmel-by-the-Sea

Set on a rare double lot with sweeping ocean views, this 1980s Carmel-by-the-Sea residence was reimagined by Marea Clark and architect Braden Sterling as a refined yet inviting family retreat. Balancing sophistication and comfort, the interiors pair a crisp, East Coast-meets-West Coast sensibility with layered textures, soft neutrals, and jewel-toned accents. Classic and contemporary furnishings mingle with vintage finds, creating distinct experiences from elegant living spaces to playful family zones. Subtle layout changes, including flipping the kitchen and dining areas, enhanced flow and connection to the outdoors, while the dining room was transformed into an intimate, mural-lined space for family gatherings.
